ELE Times: Tell us about BPE journey in India. What are your Target market/ verticals?
Saptarshi Paul: BPE started its humble journey in 2000. From there onwards, BPE is engaged in manufacturing of UPS, Solar Inverters and Power Quality Devices for enterprise and industrial applications. We have our headquarters and factory located in Noida and having 11 branch offices across the country. These branch offices work as full-fledged sales & service offices for the customers.
BPE’s whole product line is BIS certified and over the period of 17 years the company has grown in the power domain which is mainly the online UPS. BPE provides innovative UPS power solutions for every market segment – IT, Industrial, Telecom, Banking & Financial, Retail, Medical, Data Centers.
ELE Times: Your company is into power supply so tell us about Indian online UPS market?
Saptarshi Paul: The Indian UPS market is growing rapidly due to the significant demand for uninterrupted power supply. According to a Frost & Sullivan report, the UPS industry in India is estimated to reach US $ 828.2 million by 2018. The UPS market in India is currently dependent on low & medium range UPS systems (up to 60 KVA) constituting for over half of the total UPS market. As India is a power deficit nation, it has a huge market for power backup products.
The Sectors which are currently witnessing a growing demand for these UPS solutions are IT and ITeS, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), government, manufacturing, telecom and energy sectors. Additionally with support from the Digital India as well as the Make in India initiatives, we see an increasing number of SMBs and SMEs looking to adopt technology solutions in tier 2 cities and upcountry locations.

Our latest addition, GTC series LEVEL UPS is ideal for all sizes of industrial power requirements looking to achieve lower costs and savings on operational ongoing with greater flexibility and shorter deployment schedules.
The GTC series LEVEL UPS is a modular, three-phase, double conversion uninterruptible power supply system which provides operating efficiencies as high as 96.5 percent even at half load. It also covers power ranges from 120 kVA to 800 kVA with an output power factor of 1.0, which helps reduce complexity when specifying power protection.
The GTC series LEVEL UPS comes with true three level IGBT PWM rectifier & inverter technology, which provide high-grade uninterrupted electric power supply to suit the demand of various sectors.
ELE Times: Throw some light on BPE’s channel structure or any specific hierarchy your company follows?
Saptarshi Paul: Channel plays a vital role for BPE. We believe in collaborating with our partners consistently and reaching out to our customers. We are working with a variety of partners – a mix of system integrators, electrical partners and resellers many of whom; we have been working with for a very long time. We have two national distributors: Ingram Micro and Iris Computers, who have helped us to reach out to various partners across the length and breadth of the larger market. Our partners have contributed immensely to our growth as a brand and we hope to continue working with them in the future as well.
ELE Times: What is the product line of BPE and latest products introduced by BPE
Saptarshi Paul: BPE has an extensive product range of UPS from 600VA to 800KVA and paralleled to go up to 8000KVA. Our product line consists of Line interactive UPS, Online UPS single phase O/P, Online UPS three phase O/P and rack mount UPS.
ELE Times: As power is a very big market in India tell us about the BPE’s competitors and how BPE is different from them?
Saptarshi Paul: The market for UPS in India is fragmented and there exist a large number of local manufactures and MNCs. But at the same time a lot of consolidations are also going around. In terms of turnover only on UPS category, we have maintained our strong position in the market and if we look towards our product mix, product quality and reliability, BPE is at par or better in few categories with the leading companies in the industry.
