Allegro MicroSystems, LLC announced that they have appointed Richard Du as Vice President, Asia Sales. He brings more than twenty-eight years of semiconductor industry experience to this position with responsibilities ranging from market share growth to key customer and go-to-market strategy development.
Mr. Du has a Master’s degree in Microelectronics and Solid-State Physics from Nakai University and an Executive MBA from Renmin University of China. He will be located in Allegro’s Shanghai, China office. In this strategic role, he will lead the Asia sales organization to achieve the next level of sales growth through advanced market penetration strategies, enhanced channel partner relationships and close collaboration with customers.
Woonhwan (Walter) Kim, Allegro’s current Asia sales leader, announced that his retirement will occur in October 2019. He will provide guidance to Mr. Du over the next eighteen month period to ensure a seamless transition. “Walter Kim has been instrumental in accelerating Allegro’s growth in Asia during his 26 year tenure at the company. Walter’s contribution to Allegro’s success in Asia has been remarkable and we greatly appreciate his contribution to Allegro’s success,” said Ravi Vig, President and Chief Executive Officer.
