At SMART Automation Austria from 14 to 16 May 2019, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will be presenting its wide range of drive solutions. The focus of this year’s exhibition display in Linz is on innovative inverters for digital factories of the future – both for control cabinet installation as well as for decentralized installation in the field.
The Austrian Getriebebau NORD GmbH has supplied the local market as well as the neighbouring Southern European countries with application-optimised and reliable drive technology for 34 years. The main feature of the NORD DRIVESYSTEMS portfolio is its flexibility. The individual elements (gear units, motors and drive electronics) can be configured for almost any application. This guarantees solutions which are perfectly tailored to customers’ requirements. Assembly at the Linz location ensures short delivery routes and rapid service. Thanks to the PLC which is integrated as standard for convenient programming of drive-related functions, all NORD drives are Industry 4.0 READY!, i.e. they are networked, autonomous and scalable. They enable modular system design and have the necessary prerequisites for integration into an Industry 4.0 architecture.
Decentralised and efficient
With the NORDAC LINK and NORDAC FLEX frequency inverters, NORD offers decentralised drive technology which can be flexibly adapted to any required application and can be easily integrated into the system environment. Decentralised inverters save space in control cabinets, reduce costs for wiring and cable, simplify maintenance and therefore increase the efficiency of the entire drive system. NORDAC LINK provides rapid commissioning, as well as simple operation and maintenance. All connections are made with simple plug connectors. In addition, integrated maintenance switches and switches for manual operation ensure a high level of user-friendliness. The NORDAC FLEX includes power ranges up to 22 kW and is the most flexible NORD inverter due to its wide scope of functions and wide range of accessories.
Excellent communication, intelligent, future-proof
The NORDAC PRO SK 500P inverter was developed for installation in control cabinets. The new member of the NORDAC PRO product family uses the latest component technology and features ultimate levels of functionality, connectivity and modularity. This enables it to be integrated into all automation environments and adapted to a wide range of applications. Plug-in function modules enable configuration and later modification.
In comparison with previous models the hardware, design and processor architecture have been completely re-designed. The inverter can be extended with plug-in operating, safety and optional modules. The compact design in book-size format saves space in control cabinets and enables side-by-side installation. The new inverter has large overload reserves of up to 200% for perfect torque and speed performance and is capable of sensorless current vector control for asynchronous and synchronous motors.
An integrated PLC and integrated safety functions round off the broad spectrum of applications. The series covers a power range from 0.25 to 5.5 kW and is available as a machine inverter (SK 500P) or as an application inverter (SK 530P and SK 550P). These extendable inverter versions which are comprehensively equipped with communication interfaces, functions and I/O options provide an easliy implemented solution for all practical application requirements. The SK 500P series provides the very latest inverter technology which covers all major standards. Sale is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2019.
