During the two-day event at the European head office in Ratingen, the specialist in servo drive technology and motion control, Kollmorgen demonstrated the opportunities the second servo motor generation AKM2G offers, particularly in the field of machine performance. No partners from Europe or India bypassed the opportunity to gain expertise directly from the manufacturer. Everyone benefits from this close and cooperative interchange, the end customers in particular.
Kollmorgen experts shared in-depth technical knowledge of the current automation solutions and future innovations. The second generation of the type AKM2G synchronous servo motor for example delivers up to 30 percent higher power density with its optimized stator winding technology.
Kollmorgen has succeeded in making a noticeable reduction in winding losses which is a further improvement to the already very good current speed-to-torque ratio of the existing AKM servo motors. Another plus point of the new servo motor generation: The smoother cogging behavior noticeably increases the control accuracy. “Our second generation AKM2G offers our partners greater performance with the same construction volume,” says Jan Treede, host and Managing Director of Kollmorgen Europe.
