Industry-leading Wi-Fi testbed and 800G test solution grab key awards
Spirent Communications, the leading provider of test and assurance solutions for next-generation devices and networks, has collected two “Best of Show” honors at Interop Tokyo 2023, including the coveted “Grand Prize” for the Spirent OCTOBOX Wi-Fi testbed.
One of network computing’s largest trade shows, Interop Tokyo showcases the latest in cutting-edge products, solutions and services from vendors across the world. This year’s event is expected to attract almost 100,000 visitors, and the prestigious “Best of Show” awards – chosen from hundreds of nominations by a panel of leading industry analysts and experts – will take pride of place on winners’ booths during the three-day event.
Spirent, working with its long-standing partner in Japan, Toyo Corporation, triumphed in the Testing category of Interop’s annual show awards, where the Spirent B2 800G Appliance was awarded a “Best of Show Special Prize”, while the OCTOBOX test bed was selected for the ultimate accolade of “Best of Show Grand Prize.”

Wireless complexity continues to surge with new intensive use cases emerging, which is why OCTOBOX’s customizable set of isolated chambers and instruments for over-the-air (OTA) Wi-Fi or 5G network equipment and device testing caught the eye of the Interop awards panel. The OCTOBOX testbed is ready right out of the box to automate critical Wi-Fi performance tests, featuring open APIs for rapid integration with other lab testing and automation systems, to reduce wireless testing from weeks to hours. It simulates real-world environments such as interference, traffic, and mesh handover, in a stable, automated, repeatable testing environment, with multiple chambers to mimic conditions found in a home, office, and other environments.
Interop Special Prize winner the Spirent B2 800G Appliance is recognized as one of the most innovative products impacting the optical communications community. The industry’s first to market production-ready 800G OSFP and QSFP-DD test platform, the B2 800G Appliance is dedicated to accelerating time-to-market for 800G infrastructure development and adoption, no matter the interconnect strategy. Support for both OSFP and QSFP-DD MSA allows customers the flexibility to use a test platform that is native to their actual network deployments. The solution offers the market maturity, flexibility and performance features needed to validate the next generation of chipsets, routers, switches, and data center fabrics.
