Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the ADS1219 precision analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments (TI). The ADS1219 is a four-channel, 24‑bit, delta-sigma ADC that includes all of the features necessary to implement the most common system monitoring functions, such as supply voltage, current, and temperature monitoring.
The TI ADS1219 ADC, available from Mouser Electronics, offers four analog inputs with an input multiplexer that accepts two differential, four single-ended, or two single-ended and one differential signal measurements. The device’s rail-to-rail input buffers, a programmable gain stage, and clock oscillator help reduce the required external circuitry for monitoring applications. The ADC boasts programmable data rates of up to 1,000 samples per second (SPS), with a digital filter that offers simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz rejection at 20 SPS for noisy industrial applications.
The ADS1219 operates from a wide supply voltage range of 2.3V – 5.5V and features an internal 2.048 V voltage reference with low offset drift of 5 ppm/°C. The device communicates digital data over a two-wire I2C-compatible interface that supports I2C bus speeds up to 1 Mbit per second. The ADS1219 ADC is specified over a wide temperature range of minus 40 degrees to 125 degrees C, suitable for battery test equipment, gas detectors, heat meters, and wearable fitness and activity trackers.
