Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader that empowers innovation, announced it has entered into a global distribution agreement with AAEON Technology, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced industrial and embedded computing platforms, to distribute the company’s highly acclaimed UP family products.
The UP board, available from Mouser Electronics, is a credit card-sized PC that can run a multitude of operating systems including Windows 10 IoT Core, ubilinux (Debian), Yocto, Ubuntu, and Phoenix OS. Equipped with an x86 Quad-Core Intel Atom x5-Z8350, the board features 4 GBytes of RAM, 64 GBytes of eMMC storage, and a 40-pin general-purpose input/output (GPIO) expansion bus. The highly flexible board and accessories are ideal for drones, IoT devices, machine vision, media center equipment, and robotics. The AAEON UP board is included in the Intel RealSense Robotic Development Kit, allowing designers to utilize the UP board platform to develop their own robot prototypes that can recognize objects or people and navigate an environment.
To support development around the UP board, Mouser is also stocking two EnOcean development kits: the EnOcean Kinetic Kit and the EnOcean Smart Home Kit. The EnOcean Kinetic Design Kit can be combined with a 3D printer to create battery-free switches and other devices using energy harvesting wireless technology, which draws power from motion, light, or differences in temperature. The EnOcean Smart Home Kit includes an electrodynamic push-button transmitter, a wireless magnet window contact, wireless temperature sensor module, and a wireless contact switch that can be incorporated into a broad array of smart home applications. The kit connects to the UP board using a supplied GPIO adapter module that enables access to an established EnOcean ecosystem of 1,500 professional installation products. The EnOcean kits are fully interoperable, allowing faster time to market for designers.
The UP family features vast community support and a growing ecosystem. The community is moderated by the UP technical team, which provides comprehensive discussions, from specifications to applications feasibility.
