According to Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins, India can be an important nation in the development of healthcare and education technologies that can further be positioned at a larger scale in other developing markets like Africa and Latin America.
Robbins informed PTI that Cisco India’s Research and Development wing has been working on providing the “next wave” of solutions by using emerging disruptive technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain.
Robbins was on a three day trip to India in which he met IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and other delegates from the NITI Aayog. Following the meeting, he informed the media of Cisco’s role across various segments like Startup India and cybersecurity. PTI reported that the meeting between Robbins and the IT minister was based on the strategy of Digital India and the progress the nation has made therein.
Cisco’s CEO made sure to highlight that he was much of a fan of the way that India has adopted the emerging technologies over the last few years and how the firm will take the Indian market as a positive example when approaching markets elsewhere in the world. Robbins also mentioned one of Cisco’s most high profile clients in Reliance Jio and how the US-based company has helped them in setting up an all-IP network- one of the first in the world.
