The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), one of the world’s largest professional bodies for engineers announced the winners of its prestigious Scholarship Award in general and women category respectively. The event took place at My Fortune Hotel, Bangalore and the Chief Guest for the event, Mr. Deepak Jolly, India – Vice-President, Venturing and Emerging Brands (VEB) at Coca-Cola, India honoured the winners with certificates and cash prizes. Mr. Kumar Anurag Pratap, CSR Leader, Capgemini was the Special Guest.
Himal Agrawal from IIT Kharaghpur and Roshni Chabbra from BITS Pilani Campus won the award in general and women category respectively. Athul Raj from Army Institute of Technology, Pune and Snigdha Nagarajan from NIT Trichy were declared as the runners up. Winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and Runners Up with Rs 75,000.
The fourth edition of the IET India Scholarship Award drew participation from close to 7,800 students across India. The competition was organized in four levels, from eligibility to theoretical and practical engineering case resolutions. The multiple stages/ levels include the Online Application followed by the Online Test, the Regional Level Assessment and the National Final. The winners were evaluated across various parameters including academic performance, technical knowhow, problem solving capabilities, leadership skills and their ability to demonstrate economically, socially and technologically viable ideas to resolve challenges around our society.
Speaking on the occasion, Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head, IET India said, “In the last four years, our endeavour has been to handpick and bring to fore future engineering leaders of this country. I congratulate the winners on this achievement and wish them a great career ahead contributing to the growth of our country.”
